Clear Minds Counseling was designed to help those who are struggling through any of life’s many stressors. We work with individuals, couples, and families. We strive to help you set attainable and practical goals that best fit your individual needs.

We have experience working with depression, anxiety, relationship stress, personality disorders, and adjustment disorders. Our goal is to help you move forward and on to a better way of living. Each treatment plan is specific to you and focuses on solutions that will help you to overcome any challenges you are facing. I am a licensed clinical social worker. I graduated from Lewis University with my bachelors in social work and Aurora University with my masters in social work, with a specialty in advanced clinical social work. I have 8+ years of experience working in the mental health field. I created Clear Minds Counseling to help meet the needs of the mental health population in the greater Ottawa area. My passion is working with the mental health population and I have worked with a variety of mental illnesses throughout my career. Beth Whitecotton

I’m Beth Whitecotton, a Licensed Social Worker with 10+ years of experience in the social work and mental health field. I enjoy working with others to help them uncover the path to success, help them to love themselves, and overcome roadblocks. I have worked with clients from a diverse range of ages, cultures, backgrounds, and mental health diagnoses. I believe in having a nonjudgmental approach while respecting others’ personal values.

M.S. in Psychology from Capella University

Taryn Hancock

I am a licensed social worker with experience working with adults and adolescents in Anxiety/OCD partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs, in addition to working with women in a perinatal intensive outpatient program. I have received advanced training in psychotherapy through Postpartum Support International. I hold a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Aurora University. I continue to specialize in Perinatal Moods Disorders and Anxiety Disorders such as;

  • Generalized Anxiety Disorder

  • Panic Disorder

  • Specific Phobias 

  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder & all subtypes of OCD

  • Social Anxiety

  • PTSD

  • Postpartum Anxiety/Depression

I am passionate about providing evidence-based treatment that includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Exposure Response and Prevention, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction. My goal as a clinician is to provide a safe, judgement free environment that allows for us to work collaboratively on your therapeutic goals and teach you skills that you can utilize to enhance your life. 

Nicole Kowalczyk

I am a licensed clinical professional counselor with a passion for helping individuals navigate life's challenges. I graduated from Northern Illinois University with a masters degree in rehabilitation counseling and an endorsement in school counseling. I take an empathetic and non-judgemental approach to create a safe and nurturing environment where clients can openly express their thoughts and feelings. I utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques tailored to each individual's unique needs. I strongly believe in working collaboratively with clients and empowering them to set and achieve their therapeutic goals.
